Mechanism of Action of Cialis®
Normally, when adult males are sexually aroused, a signal is sent to expand the blood vessels of the penis, resulting in a natural erection.
However, patients with ED have difficulty experiencing or maintaining erections, as this signal is disrupted faster than usual by an enzyme called “PDE5”*.
Cialis® selectively inhibits PDE5 only during sexual arousal to expand blood vessels and increase blood flow, so that you can experience natural erections.

No side effects were confirmed in approximately 93% of subjects. *
* The rate of incidence of side effects during approval in clinical trials in Japan was 27.24% (70/257 subjects), and the rate of incidence of side effects of doses less than the maximum dosage of 20 mg and of 20 mg in a specific use survey was 3.43% (56/1,635 subjects). The total rate of incidence of side effects of these two was 6.66% (126/1,892 subjects).
The primary side effects reported during approval in clinical trials in Japan included 29 cases of headache (11.3%), 13 cases of flushing (5.1%), 9 cases of hot flashes (3.5%), 6 cases of indigestion (2.3%), as well as other symptoms.
